About Genevieve Nowicki
Genevieve Nowicki currently is Principle of Clean Energy Conversion Consulting (CECC), CECC provides access to U.S. solar markets by providing an understanding of the State, City and Utility policies and regulations that make the market. Previously, she served as Director of Government Relations for Solar Power Partners (SPP). While at SPP, she developed and implemented solar policies through advocacy, working with industry associations, as well as state and federalo governments, public utility commissions, municipalities, and utilities. Genevieve also served Cleantech for Obama (CT4O) as an Executive Committee member and as a battleground state director during the 2008 campaign. CT4O raised $1.6 million, had battleground state efforts in 14 states with media and messaging teams, and organizing a national house party day in all states. Post election she was the primary coordinator and wrote sections of the Agency Review memo and CT4O Memo to the Transition Team. The Loan Guarantee Program was a major priority and win. The majority of other items we requested also made it into the stimulus bill. Before joining SPP, Genevieve consulted for the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA), assisting in the passage of the solar investment tax credit (ITC). Prior to that, she was a Presidential Management Fellow for the U.S. Department of Justice and U.S. Department of State. Through this position she held high level litigation, legislative, and appropriations positions in the Executive Branch. While in law school, she worked for the U.S. Senate, Democratic Policy Committee, and externed for Judge Stephen Reinhardt in the U.S. Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit. Prior to law school, she worked on components of climate modeling at the Ecosystems Center in Woods Hole and on then Congressman (now Senator) Mark Udall’s campaign. She holds a B.S. in Bioresource Sciences and a B.A. in American Studies, with an emphasis in Environmental Economics from University of California, Berkeley; a J.D. from Chapman University School of Law; and was a visiting student at Georgetown University Law Center.
